Surry Partners as an association between a law firm and an accountancy firm was a concept developed by the principals Peter English, Brett Miller, Tony Brooks and Fred Tortora.

Our aim is to:
· provide timely practical advice in a cost effective manner;
· be proactive and creative in solving client problems;
· communicate effectively;
· keep up with changes in technology; and
· work with our clients to help them achieve their goals.

We were looking for the best way to service our business clients. In our experience those clients have to consult with a number of professional advisors in their normal operations.

All types of commercial transactions need close communication between the parties lawyers and accountants. So many clients have complained that this communication just wasn't happening, adding to the overall expense in operating their businesses and delay in getting deals finished.

Surry Partners clients are now benefiting from our association and their comments have been very positive - they keep telling us, "It makes sense".

The services we provide are those that our clients require on a day-to-day basis. They see us as extensions of their business and have learned not to come to us only when things go wrong.

Our association has also benefited us by broadening our own areas of expertise and bringing an even greater level professionalism to our respective practices.

Importantly, we always act independently of each other where a client has a current advisor. We recognise and respect existing lawyer/ client, accountant/ client relationships. Our experience has taught us the importance of communication and a flow of accurate information to the outside advisor.
